ENDING OF MAN HUNT
MAORI UNDER ARREST LONG CHASE BY POLICE CAR CONVERSION CHARGE (Per Press Association.) NAPIER, this day. An extensive man hunt by the police following a burglary at the Bay View store ended in the early hours of tins morning with the arrest of a Maori aged 24 years at Te Pohue. He appeared in court on a charge of illegally converting! a car to bis own use. A party of police was sent from Napier yesterday afternoon and a prolonged search failed, although shots were Bred over the fugitive's head once when be was sighted. The police stated that more serious charges would bo preferred against the Maori when he next appeared before the court on Monday week.
