PAINTER HURT FATALLY
VERDICT AT INQUEST
(Per Props Association.) WELLINGTON, this day
A verdict was returned at an inquest to-day by the coroner. Mr. E. Gilbert,son, that John James Bruen, a painter, died iu tho Wellington Hospital on May 9 from severe injuries received when be was knocked down by a taxi driven by Clarence Warren. The coroner said that there was no direct evidence as to where the deceased was or what part of flic car struck him. The left front door window of Hie car was smashed in, and the suggestion was made thai, possibly Hie deceased rushed up to hail the taxi. Visibility was described as very had.
