CRAWL OF TWO MILES
FARM HAND'S ORDEAL CAUGHT BY EXPLOSION After being severely injured in the lega through the explosion of some gelignite last week, Mr. Tony Urlich, a farm hand, aged about. 35 years, of Te Hoe, Waikato, crawled on his hands and knees through a number ot paddocks to his whare,, almost two miles away. There he was found by his employer, Mr. R. W.Read, and was taken to the hospital in a serious condition. \ /■ ■"]■'* Mr. Urlich had been blasting stumps on Mr. Head's farm and was working alone. When a stick of gelignite failed to explode he.returned to investigate and it exploded without warning under his feet. I With little chance of being found Mr. Urlich commenced an arduous and painful journey and it was not unti he was outside his where he lives by himself, that his cries at tracted his employer. A St. John ambulance conveyed him to the Waikato Hospital at" Hamilton.
