PUBLIC'S GOOD HUMOUR
ORDERLINESS IN CRISIS VISITORS IMPRESSED LONDON, May B. Strange as it, seems, the London bus strike, is probably the best advertisement ever given the English people. Visiting crowds of Americans and Continentals, who think of strikes in terms of tear-gas and baton charges, arc dumbfounded by the orderliness during a crisis which lias deprived half of the city's workers of their means of transport. Although the tubes are uncomfortably crowded, packed, and ,Iml, there are. no signs of frayed nerves. Tin* public is taking its diflienlfies as a joke, instead of a tragedy. On its notices advising against crushing and jostling in doorways the Transport Board has printed hearts as a symbol of goodwill.
