The faipules are dissatisfied with their new scale of pay of £3 a month. The former rate was £lO per annum, with Ss a day allowance when the Fono was in session. They now demand an allowance of Bs, in addition to the £.'Hi, and refuse to continue the Fono until the matter is dctinitclv settled.
The acting-Administrator has suggested their continuing the session as many important matters have to be discussed, and to leave the- salary qquestion to be settled later, but the faipules say: "It is best to unfeather one bird at a time."
