(Herald Coirespondent.) Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher, ITawcra, the latter ai one time the \Vairoa postmasrer, visited Wairon last week- while on a tour of the North Island before settling down after the former's retirement. Thov were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Perry, Lueknow street. The funeral of the late Mr. James Wilfrid Pluck took place at the Wairoa cemetery on Saturday afternoon, there being present a large number of town and country residents. The Rev. N, Pinch performed the burial service, and at the close the members of the U.A.0.D., led by Bro. J. Brcthcrton, carried out the ritual service of the order, of which body the deceased had been a member, ;i(l of his brcthrcn forming a guard of honour around the coffin. The pall-bearers were Bros. J. Walker, Nchwass ('!), [Tickling, Pearson, and Symos. Many floral emblems were sent as a mark of esteem and regret.
