OTTAWA REVISION
AUSTRALIAN DESIRE
CONFERENCE SUGGESTED
LON DON FEE l A MINAEIES
METHODS TO P.E TRIED
(Klee. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Real. Feb. 15, noon) .MELBOURNE, Feb. 15. The Primp Minister of Australia, Mr. .1. A. Lyons, states that action will be taken this year by the Commonwealth Government to secure a revision of the Ottawa agreement.
Foreshadowing another Imperial .Economic Conference, similar to ■ that held in Ottawa in 1932, Mr. Lyons said that no revision of the Ottawa agreement would be attempted at the Imperial Conference in London in May. The only question which would be raised at that conference, or in later London conversations, would he the method of obtaining a revision of the agreement at a later stage. Mr. Lyons indicated that the Federal Ministry had accepted the principle of economic co-operation throughout the Empire which had been established at Ottawa, If a decision were made to hold another conference, it would be possible that the Commonwealth would propose it be held in Australia, the only disadvantage being Australia’s distance from some parts of the Empire.
