Late on Saturday North Shorn sent Eden in in the hope of securing an outright win, but the hope was without, substance, for Eden battle strongly, and put up 191 for the loss of a single wicket. Carson, who opened with I’ostles, made 76 not out; l'ostles was run out after scoring 52, and G. L. Weir, who joined Carson, was 51 not out when stumps were drawn. Eden was beaten on the. fisrt innings of the match.
