SOCIALIST OPPOSITION LONDON PRESS CRITICISM LONDON, Feb. 11. Attacking the attitude of the Socialists in opposing any provision in the Civil List for the ex? King Edward, the Daily Mail, in a leading article, says:— “The Duke of Windsor should be treated in a way befitting the King's brother and his arduous service to the Empire. Nobody except the Socialists would have dreamed of debasing the natural impulse of the country towards the late Sovereign into* a political and mercenary calculation.”
