The Keppock Romney Stud is one of the best in the South Island. It was founded with Penrose ewes, bred by Sir William Perry, these hohig selected principally for covering. The late Richard Yardley paid great attention to wool, and as his country produced sheet) rather exceptional lor size and bone, he developed a very high-class Romney stud. It will pay leading breeders throughout New Zealand to attend this dispersal sale, as they will be given an opportunity to secure Romneys of the best breeding and type that will give them the desired climatic outcross. The sires used at Keppock were bred in the best North Island studs, including those of Sir William Perry, Penrose and Mr. Q. Donald. Alloa, prices paid for these at auction ranging up to ■'OOgns and 300gns. Many prizes have been won by Keppock Romneys in the leading southern, show-rings including championships at the Southland. The Romney stud founded in 1923 from well-known South Island flocks was added «<> by selected ewes from Penrose and Castlerock, and latterly the majority of the sires used came from the noted Castlerock Stud, now dispersed. The stud is noted for its bono and constitution, and density and quality of its wool. The sheep are high-class in every respect, SOUTHDOWNS.
