LIFE-SAVING SURF TEAM
AUSTRALIAN VISITORS CIVIC RECEPTION (Per Press Assorintion.) WELLINGTON, this day. A civic reception was extended to the Australian life-saving .surf team •to-day. The speakers were the Mayor, Mr. T. C. A. Hialop, Mr. Ooira, the president of the the New Zealand Surf Life-saving Association, and Mr. A. Kit to on behalf of the various athletic bodies.
Replying, Mr. .1. Cameron, the manger of the team, said its members wore proud to be included in the first team to cross the Tasnian with objects beyond ihose of athletic competition, and he extended an invitation to the Now Zealand team to tour New South Wales in 1038.
" f hope we will see you here again in 1940," said the Mayor referring to 'the Dominion centenary.
Among those present wore the lion. P. Feasor, representing the Government, and official representatives from various sports organisations.
