VETERAN JOURNALIST
MR. JOHN WARD DEAD (Per Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, this day. The death of Mr. John Whil’d, proprietor of the weekly paper, Southern Cross, has occurred at the age of 81 years. In his younger days lie was sub-editor of tho News and the Times, lie was a prominent Oddfellow and hold many offices.
