PLUNKET SHIELD PLAY
EXTENSION SUfIfIESTED UNION ASSOCIATIONS (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. Delegates of the minor cricket associations in the Wellington Plunket Shield area conferred to-night with members of the management committee of the Wellington Cricket Association. The principal business was the con;ideration of the Manawatu proposal ■hat a fifth Plunket Shield district should be formed. After a lengthy discussion, the following motion, moved by Mr. A. M. Ongley (Mannwatu), and seconded by .Mr. T. 0. Lowry (Rangitikei), was carried: "That the rules of the Plunket Shield competition bo amended so as to per ..lit (a) the inclusion of a fifth team representative of the minor associations of the Wellington district, oi anv other minor associations; (b) the reduction of matches from four playing days to three playing days; (c) that each team should play only three matches per season." A motion was also passed requesting the minor associations to considei n scheme for an interchange of visits.
It was announced that the Towi Country match would be played Wellington on December IS and 1!
