CONSUMPTION OF BEER
DECREASE IN P.RITATK LONDON. Sept. 25. Mr. Lloyd 'George, addressing the North Wales Temperance Association, said: "One of the few good things that, came out of the Great War was the drink restriction. The national consumption of beer has decreased by half since 1915. and the consumption of spirits by two-thirds,' while the convictions for drunkenness have fallen by two thirds. "Nevertheless," said Mr. George, "there is still too much drinking! for the health of the individual or the State, and the efforts to rnodifv the liquor restrictions should be fought strenuously."
