THREE DAYS ADRIFT
BRITON'S ADVENTURE ALGIERS, Aug. 26. Mr. William 11. Brailey, a London business man, has arrived here after his motor-yacht, the Strever, 69 tons, which was sailing from Alicante to North Africa, had been adrift for three days. lie said that, he was sailing the Strever to Algiers for a relative of his. Miss E. R. Potter, of London, who, after spending several months in Spain, left Alicante in a British warship shortly after the outbreak of the civil war,
Mr. Brailey engaged two Spaniards as crew and set out for Algiers. Engine trouble developed, but he was finally able to attract the attention of a British oil tanker, which notified the port authorities at Algiers. The salvage trawlers Furet and Iroise went to the relief of the Strever, but spent the whole night searching for her. Tliey located the yacht at 6 o'clock in the morning and brought her to Algiers. Mr. Brailey is suffering, from heart trouble and is very much shaken in health bv his experience.
