INCREASE IN TRAFFIC
RAILWAYS OF BRITAIN FTCURES FOR HALF YEAR (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 9.30 a.m. RUGBY, Oct. 5Railway traffic figures show that passenger journeys made on British railways during the first six months of the year, but excluding season-ticket holders, increased compared with the corresponding period of last year by 18,469,6/8. or 3.1 per cent.
For freight, the figures relate to the 28 weeks ended on duly 11, and show an increase, compared with the corresponding period of 1935. ot 6.138,509 tons, or 4.2 per cent.
