SERIES OF BURGLARIES
ENTRY FROM. ROOFS WELLINGTON CITY AREA (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. A series of burglaries, a feature of which is the remarkable athletic prowess of those responsible, has been carried out in the mid-city area of Wellington recently. In many cases, entry has been gained after the intruder had climbed on to the roof, or had chosen some other daring means, calling for steady nerves and physical strength. The latest crime was carried out in Willis street, where the promises of Keans, Limited, were entered by climbing down n 30ft light well. The office and part of the shop were ransacked. The extent of the firm’s losses lias not yet been computed, but it is not expected to be heavy.
