The passage of the year towards its end is indicated by the reminder given to owners and trainers of racehorses in connection with the spring meeting of the Poverty Bay Turf Club. This meeting is to be held during the last week in October, and nominations for all events on the two-day programme will close with the secretary, Mr. H. E. Dodd, at 8 p.m. on Friday. It is anticipated that the meeting will show a further improvement on last year’s spring fixture, sustaining the rate of recovery shown by the club’s finances throughout the last racing term. “Dinna forget.’’—When visiting: or passing through Napier—tlie “Trocalero’’ is in full swing to give service and satisfaction.*
