MISS SARAH CHURCHILL ARRIVAL IN NEW YORK NEW YORK, Sept.. 21. Mips Sarah Churchill, the actress daughter of Mr. Winston Churchill, M.P., and her brother, Mir. Randolph Churchill, who both arrived here in the past 24 hours, refuse to make any statement about the object of Miss Churchill’s visit. Vic Oliver, the stage comedian, left on a theatrical tour after declaring that “everything depended on the Churchill family.’ ’ Miss Churchill, who is 21 years of age, made her stage debut in London early this year as a chorus girl in a show in which Oliver also appeared. On Wednesday last. Miss Churchill sailed unexpectedly for New York. It is believed that slu»' accepted an invitation by Oliver lo join his new show, “Shooting High,”.as a salary of £l2 a week. The London Daily Mail believed that, before leaving, Miss Churchill wrote to her mother intimating that she might soon become engaged to Oliver. When questioned in Now York, however, Oliver said 'he had no intention of marrying the statesman’s daughter. News that the actress would “elope” to avoid parental objections to the match, and a later report of the sailing of her brother, to prevent the wedding, if he could, attracted considerable. attention.
