FANCY DRESS RACE (Herald Correspondent.) The L.D.S. Hall, Nuhaka, presented a bright scene on Friday night for the annual plain and fancy dress ball sponsored by tho members of the Nuhaka Anglican Ladies’ Guild, In keeping with most of tho functions! held in Nuhaka, the organisation was outstanding and the exceptionally large, assembly, from all parts of the district, spent a thoroughly happy evening dancing to music supplied by the Klick Klack orchestra, Wairoa, who were all dressed in fanev costumes.

Tho, stage, prettily decorated with streamers, intermingled with beautiliil flowers, made a, delightful back-ground for the many charming and original fancy costumes, which wore so numerous that Dio judges, Airs. Bcndall and Mrs. G. Foster, Opontama, had a, difficult task in awarding the prizes. A sumptuous supper was enjoyed by all. Messrs R. Steed, jnn., and F. 1 lidding acted as M.O.s. Best Maori party: Misses Pauline .Solomon, Violet TTonnro, and Iti Olsen.
