High Butter Quality In Record Gisborne Export

QIsI'OEXE attained a further record in ili(> quantity of butter exported lasl season, and in doing so maintained its high finality 1 hrottghonf, achieving the distinction with I lie. lowest percentage of second quality Butter in the whole Dominion. The season’s exports totalled 111 ,f>T- Boxes, ,an increase of 250| Boxes on tin* previous season. Of this. OO.oSI Boxes, or 58.,‘10 per cent, was graded finest, 11,00-1 Boxes, or 10,OS per cent, first grade, and only 27 Boxes, or .Oh 1 per cent, under first grade. The porl of (! isßorne did not secure the highest percentage of tines! Butler in New Zealand, but was only 2. 0 S per cent Below Wanganui,-which had 01.1*8 per cent of finest out of a total export of 142,1!.-).') Boxes, while next on the list: were the combined ports of Lyttelton and Tiinaru with 01.84 per' rent on a total of 120.517 boxes, with New Plymouth third with 01.11 per cent on •117,-18:1 boxes. A small quantity of cheese was also exported from Gisborne, the total for the past season lining 048 crates, of which only 50 crates, or 5.01, per cent, were graded finest, with fi-12 crates, or 80.02 crates, graded first grade, leaving 08 crates, or 7.17 per cent, below first grade. Gisborne had fewer loadings of butter during the past; season than for some time. Twenty loadings were made, compared with 21 the previous season and 25 tho season before that. Of the butter exported during the past season, 3000 boxes were sent fo America, 1 li o remainder going to Ilia. United .Kingdom. During the previous season, all butter exported went to the United Kingdom.
