The construction of a mile and a half of approach roacl to the site of the new Raukokoro Stream bridge, on the main East Coast-Opotiki .rqad, is to be a preliminary to tho erection of the bridge itself. This new road will be made on the Opotiki bank of the, stream, and a contract has been let for the work. The successful tenderer has made a start with tie work, and good progress should bo mado if the present favourable weather continues.
