The week's quiet was broken when throngs of brokers' clerks, jammed in an inextricable, .-kicking mass fought to buv on the rise. Tho authorities decided to keep the iiscs at between In and 20 per cent. Consequently, business was almost confined to 'outside brokers. Tho market for international .stocks soared. • . ■••■•-.!■.
