Dr. Oscar .Tacobsen, L.It.C.P., M.R.C.S., of Wellington, who died as a result of li recent motor accident, was born'in Nottingham, England, and was educated at the University Collego School, London, having as his contemporaries there such eminent men as Lord Reading, Lord Dawson of Penn, Greiflcnhagen (the artist), and Lord Morley. As a medical student he served at St. Bartholomew's Hospital, London, and after graduating practised in several parts of England. During the war lie joined tlio Royal Army Medical Corps, serving in England, as he was too old to proceed to the front. ,At the end of 1916 Dr. .Tacobsen came to New Zealand and practised in Wellington.
