DRAPERY SHOP FIRE
SOUTHLAND OUTBREAK ' ESTIMATED £2OOO L©SS (Per Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, last night. A fire broke out in the ceiling of Messrs. Thomson and P.eattie's drapery emporium at "> o'clock this evening and gave the brigade considerable trouble before it was extinguished. Tho ceiling towards the front of the shop was blazing when the brigade arrived and difficulty was experienced in getting to the seat of the fire. Before the outbreak was under control, about £2OOO worth of damage was done to stock, mainly by smoke and water.
