ANTI-AIRCRAFT GUNS
PARADE IN WELLINGTON MOBILE SEARCHLIGHTS (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. A parade of anti-aircraft and other defence equipment, was held in Wellington this afternoon, and attracted considerable attention. Two 3-inch anti-aircraft guns, mounted on four-wheel trailers, weighing eight tons in all and drawn by six-wheel lorries occupied a prominent place in the procession. They were followed by two six-wheel searchlight lorries, each equipped with lights and generators. Two exhibits of particular interest in the procession were a “‘gangster’ machine-gunner on a motor-cycle, specially equipped by I fie-Defence Department t,o carry quick-firing guns, and a motorised Vickers machine-gun carrier of a type also, specially developed by the department.
