GIRLS DEFEAT BANDITS
LIVELY GUN BATTLE NIGHT ATTACK ON FARM PARTS. Aug. 19. Two young Tunisian girls drove off a hand of marauders attacking their farm after a lively gun battle. The girls live at Chaout, near Bone, in the north of the colony. They were aroused late- at night by a gang of armed bandits who demanded 50 sacks of beans and all the cattle. .Seizing guns, the girls fired through the windows. The marauders replied and (ho skirmish continued for some time. Finally a neighbour who hoard the living formed a rescue party of his workmen. They too were greeted with shots, but succeeded in putting the bandits 1o flight. The two girls were unhurt.
