Mr. L. Warren, formerly of the Auckland office of the Union Steam Ship Company, left Wellington by the Maunganui for Rarotonga, where he is to be manager.

The Rev. W. J. Elliott, Devonport, has left Auckland for the Wairarapa, where ho is to conduct the anniversary and jubilee services of two Methodist churches.

The police force in Gisborne is to be strengthened by the addition of another constable. This week-end Constable E. O. 11. Wigmore, Wellington, is expected to arrive in Gisborne to take up his duties.

Mr. G. G. Winter, borough traffic inspector, completes his engagement in Gisborne on Tuesday, and lias arranged to leave on Thursday to take up his residence in Hamilton as traffic inspector for the Waikato County Council. Constable J. Scannell, Tolaga Bay, left yesterday for Hunterville, having effected an exchange with Constable W. H. Bradley, Hunterville. The new constable for Tolaga Bay is well-known on the Coast, as he was stationed for many years at Waipivo Bay prior to his transfer to Hunterville. It is a coincidence that Constables Scannell and Bradley have each seen 29 years’ service in the force. Mr. W. W. Mulholland, president of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union; has arranged to visit Gisborne early in November in the course of a tour of the North Island. Since his election to the position of president of the union, Mr. Mulholland has toured the South Island, and is now making arrangements to visit the North. Advice received by Mr. C.
