SYDNEY TO NAPIER
PROPOSED AIR RACE £SOOO IN PRIZE MONEY FREE-FOR-ALL CONTEST (Per Press Association.) NAPIER, this day. A. proposal to organise an air race from Sydney to Napier in January lias been, placed before the Napier Thirty Thousand Club. Tito prize money will amount lo £SOOO. An anonymous Napier donor has already offered £SOO, with a stipulation that the finishing point, for the race must be Napier. Although the Napier aerodrome at present is in course of re-formation, the emergency aerodrome at West shore is stated to provide ample landing space for the largest- air liners likely to participate in the race. There will be no restrictions regarding the types of machines to be entered in the race.
