Overcast conditions were reported at Napier this morning, but bluo : skies prevailed elsewhere in the North Island. Light to moderate, north -westerly breezes were general. The barometer had commenced a rising movement, /■empera. tures at 9 o'clock were; Auckland 60 decrees, Tauranga, Fast Capo and Gisborno 57, Napier 59, and Wellington 64. Moderate, or smooth seas were reported everywhere. Last Night's Forecast An anticyclone still extends across the North Tasman Sea and northern New Zealand. A shallow depression has passed to the eastwards, but a widespread one now covers southern Australia and the south-west Tasman Sea. Anus: Light to moderate westerly to soulnweslerlv. veering again lo northwest erlv again and increasing, especially about and south of Cook Strait. Seas: Rather rough to rough in the South Taranaki flight and the Foveotix Strait area, otherwise slight to moderate but later rising ou the "west coast ol the South Wnnd.
