It is reported from Spain that tho rebels, after the capture of Maqiieda, are advancing towards Torrijos. They are confident of soon raising tho siege of. the Toledo. Alcazar, the Inst of whose four towers crashed down to.day under tlie concentrated fire of tho besiegers' artilleiy. Nevertheless, tho rebels maintain an intermittent fire from the 'ruins, while Government, reinforcements are taking, up positions, to the, north of the shattered fortress. In taking, Maqueda the rebels killed and wounded ACQ men and-took 200 prisoners and- captured tanks, armoured cars and quantities of other arms and munitions. The victory enabled the right wing of General Yagues' force to advance along, the Tagus. valley towards Toledo. The main force is pushing on towards Madrid. Loyalist, recruits are being rushed from the capita! to oppose them. The insurgents, except on tho Aragon front, are everywhere advancing. Their troops, though numerically inferior to those of the loyalists, are being well organised and are heavily armed.
