HOSPITAL CONTROL

MANAGER-SECRETARY JOB

AUCKLAND £ISOO PLAN

(Per Press Association.)

AUCKLAND, this day.

The appointment of a inanagerseeretary to have complete control of all activities of the Auckland Hospital, except medical and nursing, at a salary of £I2OO a year is to be discussed at a special meeting of the Hospital Board next week.

The appointment was suggested by the chairman, the Rev. W. C. Wood, at a special meeting held last night to deal with a report on- the hospital administration made «by Mr. G. Grey Campbell, public accountant, and discussed at other special meetings recently.

Other suggestions made by the chairman were that authority should be sought from the Government to enable the board to proceed with the erection of a surgical block and a sanatorium and also an administrative block, as the first portion of a fiveyear building plan, and that the board should advise the Government that it regards the building of two recovery hospitals, one in the north and-one in the south of the hospital district, as essential features of the building plan.

It was also suggested that the position of manager-secretary should be advertised in New Zealand and Australia, and that the salary should rise to £ISOO at the rate of £IOO a year.
