In marked contrast, to the position la-,1 year at this time, stock feed is very plentiful in Olago and Southland. There is so much now that many acres of root feed will be ploughed in by farmers.
Blacksmiths in Opotiki have stated their intention of observing a five-day week, and their premises will be closed on Saturdays in future. The weekly halfholiday is at present observed on Wediicsrlay, farmers usually making Saturday the chief shopping day. The move by the blacksmiths may cause inconvenience to those farmers who go to town onlv at the week-ends.
