GISBORNE ROWING CLUB

MEETING OF COMMITTEE FIRST CREWS SELECTED The principal business when the committee of the Gisborne llowingi Club met last evening was the selection of the First Trial Fours crews] and 12 fours were made up Those present were Messrs. A. F. Allen, chairman, K. A. Bell, D. Jones, It. Million. I). V. .Muir, J. Zaehariah, U. Winstanley, J. I'a.ine, and the lion, secretary, Mr. It. Coleman. An apology for absence was received from Mr. S. W. Bruce. Two new members, Messrs. .). Short and A. M. Brodie, were elected to active membership, the latter subject to a, clearance being received from the Poverty Cay Rowing Club. It was decided, on the motion of Mr. Million, seconded by .Mr. Zaehariah. that two sets of oars should he purchased from Mr. 11. It. Sharp. Wangnnui, these oars to be backed with a strip of blue fig, which is said to add to the strength of the oar near the button. It was decided to call a working bee in the shed soon to clean out the lockers and the upper portion of the top floor. Messrs. Allen and Zaehariah were appointed the visiting committee for the ensuingi week.
