"SKID TESTER" ON ROADS
LONDON' EXPERIMENT LONDON, Aug. LI. Scotland Yard and the Ministry of Transport are co-operating every night this week in skidding tests on ( "black roads" in the London area. The only "skidding machine" in the country is being used. The Ministry hopes to obtain valuable information, about Ike'danger or safely of various surfaces. The machine is ii motor-cycle and side-car. the outside wheel' of which is capable of being deflected from the parallel. A water sprinkling machine is used lo make the surface "greasy," On six nights the machine is being ' Inken to different London roads where the accident figure is high.
