PARALYSED FOR 8 MONTHS DUCHESS COMES TO AID LONDON, Aug. 11. . A miner, married, paralysed at 30 years of age, has been given new hope by a duchess. His wife smiles again—for the first time since a, roof fall in Williamthorpe. [Colliery, Derbyshire, eight months ago deprived her 'man of file use of his limbs. His spine was broken. Since then George Henry Spencer, of Station roa<],,Pdaley, has lain in Chesterfield .Royal Hospital. Those eight months of treatment failed to effect an improvement. The Duchess of Portland heard. She interested herself in the case —satisfied herself that Spencer's only remaining hope lay with the world's most highly skilled specialists in St. Thomas' Hospital, London.
