The monthlv meeting of St. Mat> s Ladies' Guild", Matawai, was held, yesterday. Mrs. Smith presiding over a small'attendance. . \ discussion took place on the statement of receipts and expenditure presented at the annual meeting of parishioners. The Rev. .1. D. Hodgson, who was present for a short time, suggested that the ladies' guilds should send in an annual report of their activities. • A suggestion was made by the vicar that the annual parishioners' meetings ol Motu and Matawai should be held betorc the Te Karaka annual parishioners meeting. Subsequently a motion was passed that representatives from the two Jailcountry centres should be asked to attend the Te Karaka meeting. Further arrangement* were made lor the flower show, the following agreeing 4o assist :—Mrs. 11, Monghtop, secretarial duties; Mrs. C. V. Smith and helpers, afternoon ten; Mrs. U. Montgomery, 'work stall; Mesdames Thomas and llargreaVes. produce stall; Miss Mortleman, flower steward; .Miss I'.ulsl. cooking steward. Mesdames F. Read and J. Hutchinson were appointed judges in the two sections. It. was decided to invite the Motu Ladies' Guild to display its needlework in a stall at the Matawai show.
