Two counterfeit' £lO bank notes were passed in Brisbane during the week-end, nolhwithstanding the recent puolie warnings by the police. They were passed at citv hotels and were not detected until put through the ordinary channels lot calculating tho. rate of exchange. They were genuine New Zealand £1 and 10s notes, but the numerals and money symbols bad been ingeniously altered to make- them appear ol £lO denomination
