gTEWART Island ran boast of very early lambs if ono includes the wild sheep at Mason’s Bay, writes the Southland News’ correspondent. Several of the merino wild sheep were observed with lambs early in June. Recently some big lambs were seen which point to their being horn even earlier. They are the remnants of merino flocks of bygone days and have penetrated the bush almost to Doughboy Bay. Among these sheep is a small mob with black faces which .appear to keep to themselves.
