Light, to .moderate northerly breezes were general, jhe barometer had commenced a lulling movement. Temperatures at 9 o’clock were : Auckland and Gisborne 60 degrees, lau ranga 55, Opotiki 58. Last Gape sb, Napier 57, and Wellington ss. Moderate, or smooth seas were reported every where. Last Night’s Forecast A shallow' depression is crossing tin; Dominion 10-dav, and another one tippears to bo located over (be north-west Tasman Sea. An anticyclone covers southeastern Australia, amt extends on to the southern Tasman. Winds: Northerly to north-easterly mainly, but southerlies prevailing in the southern portion oi the South island and extending over most of the Dominion within the next 24 hours; force light to moderate, but freshening somewhat. Seas : Bather rough to rough north of Farewell Spit and in I lie Look Strait, area, moderate to rather rough south of Farewell Spit; elsewhere slight to moderate, lmt later rising north of Fast Cape. Fnsiern, Tasman Sen : Northerly winds at first, in the northern and central portions, southerly in the southern and southerlies, or smith-easterlies later becoming general; force moderate with moderate seas, but wind and sea rising shortly.
