BOXING IN AUCKLAND TWO PROFESSIONAL BOUTS' (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, last, night. Two professional bouts were staged by the Auckland Boxing Association ’ to-night. ‘ The principal contest was a catch-1 weight of 10 three-minute rounds in! which Archie Hughes (Auckland), 9st. 61b., defeated A 1 Stock (Hastings), 10.0,' on points after a good exhibition, Hughes substituting for Neville Mudgeway (Waihi), who was unable to.take'the ring on account of illness. The second professional contest was 0- light heavyweight one between Marine Ryan (H.M.S. Dunedin), list. 121 b., and Frank Prendergast (Invercargill), 12st. 4lb. Ryan won on points ’after a fairly fast but rather ragged’ exhibition.

FINANCE DIFFICULTY BOSS-GAR ROLL CONTEST SYDNEY. Sept. 21. The promoter of the Barney RossJack Carroll fight. Air. Charles Lucas, has announced that, unless he can raise £OSOO by to-morrow, the world’s welterweight fight, fixed for December at Sydney, will be cancelled. Air.
