MAORI FOOTBALL
LEAGUE ADVISORY BOARD The control of Maori football in New Zealand was advanced another stage recently, when the New Zealand Rugby League approved the constitution of the Maori Advisory Control Board and its nominee to sit on the New- Zealand Rugby League Council in an advisory capacity. The president of the New Zealand Rugby League said that history showed the code always gave the Maori encouragement on an equality basis. Many requests had been made for closer relationship between the council and the Maori representatives and every assistance would be given for the furtherance of the Rugby League code among the Maori people. The prospects of a tour to Australia were discussed, but no finality was reached.
