Under ilie headline “Queen Victoria, Friend of Germany,” the Deutsche Allgemeine Zeitung, with King Edward s permission, is publishing 23 of Queen Victoria’s letters to members of the ITohenzollern family. The letters were recently discovered in' the archives of a house at Brandenburg. Almost all are written in German. In one, dated 1870, Queen Victoria says: “A powerful Germany can never bo dangerous to England. Quite the contrary. Our principal aim, therefore, is to try to ensure that she adopts a friendly and trustful attitude towards
The Zeitung comments that to the loss of world peace, Edward VII did not adopt these ideas.
