CINEMA CIRCUSES
BOMP. AND GAS-PROOF
LONDON, Aug. 12. Super cinemas, each equipped with underground bomb-proof, gas-proof shelters, to be permanently open to the, public, are to start building in two months. They' will he put up by' a new company in 20 different centres in Britain. Options on sites already have been taken in Sheffield. Liverpool, Lincoln. Cheltenham, and Nottingham.
A sliding stage in each of the cinemas will enable it to house a mammoth circus. This is being organised in conjunction with the scheme, and will visit the houses in dotation.
Tho circus, which is to he the biggest ever staged in this country, is due to set out 011 a prelimiuarv tenting tour in a few weeks.
Tine company also has taken a site on the tguith coast on which to build a film stiuli o.
