The representative billiards player ol the flisborne Cosmopolitan Olidr, A. Redmond, who look part recently in the New Zealand amateur Ihiliin da championships which were held in Chrislehnrch, was eliminated in: the second round. Rrdinond drew a. bye in the first round and in the second round had the misfortune to he matched against A. Bowie, Dunedin, who had previously won the championship three times and been runner-up live times. The early games Were played to 666. Redmond took Bowie to 4CO and up to that stage the game could have gone either way, but an (.lie final stages approached, the Dunedin man’s experience assisted him greatly and ho took the match. Bowie’s highest break was 81 and tlio best break registered by Redmond was 71.
