Tariff Board increase the duty on New Zealand apples. It is contended that the increasing imports of NeA\- Zealand apples are a. danger to the Australian growers. The Federal Minister of Customs, Mr. T. W. White, so far has declined to grant-the-request. -Tie claims-that the present duty of 10s per cental, which has been 'operating since 1921, is sufficient protection. In the last 1;1 years, only 341 centrals, valued at £297, have been imported.
