MORERE IMPROVEMENTS
HOT SPRINGS RESERVE FURTHER WORK PROPOSED TOURIST MANAGER'S VISIT (Special to the Herald.) MORERE, this day. Mr. L. J. Schmitt. general manager of the New Zealand Tourist Department, accompanied by Mr. CoUett, assistant general manager, this week inspected the Morere. hot springs. .Mr. Schmitt was ray favourably impressed with the improvements at" the hot springs reserve, especially the new summer open-air swimming pool, which, is now open to the public. Further improvements to be done will include an imposing entrance to the hotsprings reserve. Mr. Schmitt indicated that the project would take the form of a massive archway, similar to that in the tourist Department's Rotorua domain.
Plans were discussed for the laying down of a recreation ground and a footIktll field adjoining the i-eserve. This already very popular health resort no doubt'will receive much attention from tourists and the travelling public.
