RESERVE BANK RETURN
STATE DEPOSITS LOWER BANKS' HOLDING'S RISE The Reserve Dank return for the week ended Monday, September 14, was gazetted on Thursday. The statement is balanced at £24,643,307, or £212,331 less than at the close of the previous week. The note issue shows another decrease. additional to that recorded in the. previous return, the fall being £18,650. Government deposits have decreased by £224,164, while those of the trading banks are £154,585 higher. Other demaud liabilities have fallen £123,443. Oil the assets side the only movement of note has been a, fall of £208,500 in the value of the miscellaneous item "other assets." Advances to the State or to State undertakings, which had shown an, increase of £645,697 the previous week, are almost unchanged, (■here having been a. decrease ot £1615.
