Jdans for the Clarence Ri.ver. bridge are nearing completion and it is anticipated that tenders for this major work will bo invited shortly. The main construction camp south of the Clarence is now being prepared ■ at Aniseed, where the public works - .headquarters shortly will be established. The shortage of timber for work-' men’s accommodation has been overcome and over 30 carpenters arc now engagedin eitcting hutments, recreation balls
and other buildings. A modern construction plant, which has. been on order for some time, including six Diesel excavators on creeper tracks, with shovel and dragline equipment, six Diesel live-ton locomotives, as well ns air compressors and complete workshop equipment is expected at the end of October. i
