STRIKES IN FRANCE
SERIOUS LILLE CLASH ST AT E INTER V ENT lON LONDON, Sept. 16 Reports from France state that at Lille gardes mobiles were obliged to charge the crowds several times last night and 30 people were injured, during demonstrations connected with the textile strike, Thousands assembled outside a hall where the French Social Party, an oilshoot, of the Croix de Feu. was meeting, and at tempted to set it orr fire.
Already a wave of smaller strikes is spreading through France. Colonel De La Boeque has seized the opportunity of launching a new cam. paign against the Government. He has displayed posters throughout 1' ranee, do daring that- the increase in prices has already outdistanced the advance in wages.
The. French Government to-day re ceived representatives of employers and workers and it is expected to appoint an arbitral or. The Government believes that both sides will accept, his decision.
